Artemis by Adriana Garcidueñas Villalobos, explores ways to express the movement and warmth of brushwork inside a typographic system on a single type family. Each style explores a different topic: the Roman styles research the expressiveness of the brush at large and small (optical size); the Gothic style explores movement, shape manipulation, and texture; and finally, the Italic is an exploration of sharpness, softness, and angle variation.

For the visual universe a fictional Rock-punk Kpop band was created. Each style of the family is a member of the band.

Adriana Garcidueñas is a freelance type designer, calligrapher and lettering artist from Morelia, México. She loves music, movies and delicious food. Before moving to Miffyland (The Netherlands) with the help of a full BIPOC scholarship she received a postgraduate certificate in typeface design from TypeWest and a year later from Type@Cooper; now with the help of the NL Scholarship she’s finishing her masters degree at the ultimate Type Nerd experience a.k.a. Type Media. When she’s not attending live concerts you can find her planing her next little monster typeface.
