Alvess Serif by Gabriel Danilo Dukić began with an interest in historical italic typefaces, exploring their dynamic forms and potential for contemporary typography. It reinterprets traditional conventions in a restrained yet familiar design. As a result, “Alvess” draws on different periods and regions—from the French Renaissance and the Dutch Baroque to the Scottish Industrial Age. With its five styles, Alvess is well-suited for editorial design in cultural and artistic contexts, allowing for different levels of typographic hierarchy.

Gabriel Danilo Dukić is a german graphic and type designer with a strong focus on editorial design and typographic systems. He completed both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in visual communication at FH Aachen before continuing his studies in type design at the Royal Academy of Art, The Hague. Coming from a German typographic background, he enjoys designing typefaces with clear and systematic structures, while adding a playful twist　in their use.
